If you are moving house any time in the near future, today we are here to help you. We are going to try and provide as much useful advice and guidance as possible so that those moving, including you, can move this spring without any uncalled for stress. What do you think? Does that sound great? Keep on reading to find out how…
The first thing that you need to do when moving house is to sit down and write a checklist of everything that you need to do, including people that you need to inform, companies that you need to hire, things that you need to buy and so on. This will allow you to work step by step, ticking things off and feeling accomplished. Of course checklists for moving vary from person to person as no two moves are the same; however we are now going to list just some of the things that you may not want to forget!
Don’t leave these things off your moving checklists
The majority of people when moving house must NOT forget these things:
- Book a removal company in London in plenty of advance. Reputable removals companies get booked up incredibly quickly so if you leave it till the last minute, you are bound to end up disappointed.
- Order all of the moving supplies that you are going to need. Many people get this wrong, failing to order the relevant supplies and thinking that they can pack their things in stuff that they already have – This is a bad idea. It is always important to use high quality moving boxes.
- Write a separate list of all of the people that you need to let know about your move and inform them one by one. These people could include banks, schools, work places, utility companies and more. Oh, and don’t forget to inform the post office and set up post redirections is required.
- Start packing in plenty of advance remembering that you don’t have to take everything with you. See your new house as a fresh start, especially since it is spring, and get rid of things that you no longer need or want. You could consider giving things to charity, selling things or simply giving them away.
- Prepare your current home for the new owners, leaving them a briefing sheet including details of how to work the boiler and alarm, the location of the meters and any other information which you think that they may need.
